You know you're a mom when...

you put on a shirt presumed to be clean only to find an hour later that there are caked-on peas on one sleeve and dried spit up on the front...not to mention the wet spot where you were just peed upon which is what compelled you to look down at your shirt in the first place.

By the way, I am a very proud mom of an adorable, busy, 7-month old boy. He is into everything, not officially crawling yet, but can easily get to where he wants to go. The past couple of days I have observed him trying to pull himself up to standing. Oh dear. He's got one adorable fang...I mean, tooth. He loves all the "solid" food he has tried, other than avocado and yogurt, and is a very good and actually very neat eater. Toys are not his thing anymore.  Paper, electrical cords, strings, plastic containers, eye glasses, cereal boxes, the laundry basket, etc. provided much more entertainment. He has found his voice and is full of screams, squeals, "bah bah's", and "mah mah's". Diaper changes are more like wrestling matches and staying asleep at night is not something that comes easily. Life finally feels like it has some semblance of predictability and routine again, which sounds boring, but really it's wonderful.

Looking forward to a long weekend ahead with not too many plans.

[picture to follow. hopefully of the cute little boy featured in the second paragraph, not of the disgusting shirt from the first paragraph]
